Michael Walter - Executive Director, Recruiting Michael is Executive Director managing the Pharma/Agency channel for Hawthorne Executive Search. Michael after a successful pharmaceutical career in sales and marketing was brought on board to build out the pharmaceutical group for the company. This has lead to parallel work in advertising and interactive marketing with a focus on pharma and other related industries.
Michael comes to HES after 7 very successful years in Pharmaceutical Sales, Marketing, Management and Training with Hoechst Marion Roussel, Aventis and ICOS. Prior to his Pharmaceutical career Michael spent 8 years in the Financial Services Industry as a financial consultant with industry giants, Merrill Lynch and A.G. Edwards. His in depth industry experience in marketing and sales has prepared him well for his current role in finding professionals for Pharmaceutical and Agency channel. With the Life Sciences Group Michael works with a broad variety of pharmaceutical, biotech and vendor side companies such as medical education, interactive marketing and advertising agencies. Here pulling from his pharmaceutical experience he specializes in placing folks in marketing, sales, medical direction, clinical direction, executive management and account management roles. He loves the challenge of finding very specific skill sets for some highly specialized roles and has had great success in doing so. Michael has a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado.
